The Church of St Thomas More (STM) has identified parish and neighborhood youth engagement as an initiative vital to its spiritual and social commitment in the service of God. As part of this, the Parish Council’s Youth Committee (PCYC) has created a Youth Community Service Initiative to invite young people to volunteer their time and efforts. The PCYC is working with New York Common Pantry (NYCP), a neighborhood institution dedicated to reducing hunger through New York City while promoting dignity and self-sufficiency.
Sandwich Making for New York Common Pantry (NYCP)
This Sunday afternoon program aimed at teens and families involves making sandwiches for NYCP on the premises of Saint Thomas More Church. A church volunteer will then bring the sandwiches to the NYCP facilities for distribution at the dinner service. Watch our video to learn more about this important community initiative.
