Parish of Our Lady of Good Counsel (OLGC) and St. Thomas More (STM) Parish Council
Summary Minutes of October 19, 2015 – 7:00 pm

The Parish Council (PC) discussed Father Madigan’s installation at OLGC on November 22, 2015 and noted the election of officers including two vice-presidents and two secretaries – one set representing OLGC and one set representing STM.

The PC reviewed the OLGC and STM calendar and discussed a number of upcoming events including the STM Christmas Party and the Christmas toy drives of both STM and OLGC. The PC discussed the initiation of the alter servers program at STM in addition to initiating a new “Roundtable Discussion” focusing on contemporary spiritual issues.

The PC noted the strong response to the OLGC-STM JoyJ Initiative Homeless Outreach.
The PC discussed creating a common website and a common bulletin for both OLGC and STM.
The PC also discussed the STM speakers’ series and the OLGC speakers’ series and expressed concerns regarding the lack of youth ministry activities. Noted STM’s food kitchen outreach and discussed whether a youth mass or a youth CCD would be a potential activity to increase youth ministry activities.
