Father Madigan spoke of the Archdiocese Strategic Plan: Making All Things New, which will determine how to financially and spiritually optimize NYC churches and their resources. Right now, all churches are in Phase 1, the purpose of which is to identify strengths and weaknesses and areas to move forward on. It will also help determine how best to work with a cluster group of parishes. St. Thomas More has selected St. Ignatius Loyola, St. Jean Baptiste, St. Vincent Ferrer, Our Lady of Good Council and St. Joseph?s as potential cluster parishes.
St. Thomas More will be conducting an
online and paper questionnaire, Town Hall Meetings and informal gatherings after masses. All of the above will take place at our Parish starting October 26. This outreach will provide us with empirical data on our strengths and areas for improvement, which the Making All Things New Committee will present at the next Making All Things New meeting for all Manhattan Churches on December 4, 2013.
Parish Council Members reviewed upcoming events, such as the More for Less Fair on October 26 from 10am to 5pm and all of the events on our Calendar from Thanksgiving through Christmas.
