Liturgies and music during Holy Week at STM were well received and saw the highest numbers of parishioners. The congregation filled the Chapel and overflowed onto 89th St at the Family and Noon masses. Our thanks also to our parishioners for making the Cardinal's Appeal a resounding success - STM is within $5,000 of doubling its goal!
With the Easter season now behind us, the PC marked the successful completion of a number of events: the always well-attended Family Day and Easter Egg Hunt; two More Hot Topic events including the capacity attendance for Cardinal Dolan's lecture on Pope Francis. The Cardinal wrote saying how appreciative he was of the opportunity to speak at STM and impressed with the lecture initiative. Upcoming events planned through this PC year include two More Hot Topics on May 12th featuring Fr Justin Wylie, STM's best speaker after the Cardinal, and Jun 9th with George. Horton; and the Crowning of Mary on May 4th. The Summer Coffee Hour which follows the Sunday 10am Family Mass has also been planned thanks to our dedicated group of volunteers. We are always looking for new names to sustain this vibrant family focused parish community event. The inaugural event focusing on building a similar vibrant parish community among STM's young adults is planned for May 4th. Begin the new week with fellow parishioners for a cocktail and light eats following the Sunday 545pm Mass in the Parish Hall reception area. This month's evening has a Spanish flavor marking Cinco de Maio.
June will mark the end of the current PC year and the process is underway for 2014-2015 PC elections. A vibrant STM parish is dependent on the support of all parishioners and participation on the PC is one way to contribute. Please consider this deeply rewarding opportunity for parish service.
