St Thomas More and the Making All Things New Committee are finalizing the joint (STM, St. Ignatius Loyola, St. Francis de Sales) report requested by the Archdiocese regarding the proposed merger of STM with St. Ignatius Loyola. Fr. Madigan continues to remain cautiously optimistic particularly given the solidness of STM’s finances, diversity of scale of STM’s community outreach and the enormous response of parishioners, friends and Carnegie Hill Neighbors in support of saving our intimate church. A heartfelt thank you to all who voiced their concerns to Bishop O’Hara in December and directly in Cardinal Dolan’s ear at various events, written letters to Cardinal Dolan, signed electronic petitions and participated in the video last Sunday (this will be posted on the website shortly). The joint report of STM, St. Ignatius Loyola and St. Francis de Sales is due March 1 with a decision expected sometime in April.
Upcoming Feb events include Feb 21 - 22 Food Drive in support of NY Common Pantry and More Hot Topics on Mar 3 featuring Sydney Callahan speaking on Catholic Family Life.
